It is a CAA requirement that the name of an installation should be clearly displayed in such positions on an offshore facility so that it can be readily identified from the air and sea from all normal angles and directions of approach. I.D. plates that are used to identify installations need to be highly visible in all light conditions. Seaward Safety normally supply them with retro reflective backgrounds, however this can be to the client's specification. I.D. plates are an in-house development at Seaward Safety and each one is built from either AutoCAD drawings supplied by ourselves or to the client's specification.
