International Maritime Organisation (IMO) signs must comply to PSPA Class B or higher performance requirements, ISO 15370 shipping and marine technologylow location lighting on passenger ships, DIN 67510 Part 4, IMO resolution A.752(18) subject to satisfactory in situ illumination and Lloyd's Register Type Approval. All IMO signs should have the following characteristics. IMO signs must also comply with the requirements of SOLAS Chapter III Regulation 9.2.2 (signs should be clearly visible in emergency circumstances), with the use of symbols in accordance with SOLAS Chapter III Regulation 9.2.3 to ensure the safety and health of offshore and shipping personnel and passengers of sea going vessels. Each item of emergency equipment or it's storage location should be identified with IMO approved signage. Muster Stations and directions to Muster Stations should also be identified with IMO approved signage.
