The new intrinsically safe safety vests, marketed by Seaward Safety from Exelite personal safety systems are carefully designed to withstand all weather conditions and harsh working environments. With its light weight appearance and easily adjustable features this Safety Vest is very easy to wear causing no restrictions to the movements of the wearer in their working environment. By pressing the button once on the waist band will activate the light and provide a solid continuous light. By pressing the button a second time the vest will provide a fast blinking action. By pressing the button a third time the vest will provide a slower blinking action. Press the button a forth time to turn the light off.

The light is generated by a high frequency signal, there is no heat dissipation and no gas or filament. While traditional retro reflective materials can only be seen up to 200m, providing a direct light source is used. Exelite vests can be seen from over 600m with the naked eye and can be seen through fog, rain, dust and smoke. Due to its dynamic, skillful design, the vests are observable from all angles, making users location easily identifiable.

The energy source is an intrinsically safe, rechargeable no memory li-on battery pack. With the option of either 12 or 24 hour life, before recharging becomes necessary. To recharge the battery pack, either plug into mains socket or charge in an in-car charger.
