EMBARKATION
1. Before entering lifeboat, Coxswain to check area below lifeboat is clear of obstructions, the rudder and propeller are intact, the wind and wave direction and all
electrical plugs have been disconnected.
2. Once Coxswains has completed all lifeboat checks, started the engine and the OIM has given permission to board all personnel are to enter the lifeboat distributing
themselves evenly throughout the lifeboat beginning aft then moving forward. All personnel are to fasten seat belts. Any casualties are to be loaded last.
3. With all personnel in position and doors closed the Coxswain will report readiness for launching to Control and Command. The Oim will give permission for launching. OUT OF SERVICE
LAUNCHING 4
1. The coxswain will delegate one person to pull down on the winch remote control wire to release the holding brake.
2. The lifeboat will lower to the water, descent is controlled by the centrifugal braking mechanism in the winch.
3. Once lifeboat is waterborne release the hook mechanism and proceed to safe area paying the brake release cable through the hole in the canopy.
