What is a Photoluminescent Sign and how does it work?
Photoluminescent signs highlight vital information in both dark and light conditions. The photoluminescent material work by absorbing light from ambient lighting sources, whether natural or electrical, and then glows when the light source is removed. This could be due to power failure, smoke ingress or fire.
Key Benefits:
• Provides extremely high visibility in both light and dark conditions.
• Cost effective alternative to electrical signs.
• Maintenance free.
• Fire retardant.
• Our photoluminescent material has been independently tested by the German Federal Institute for Materials Research & Testing (BAM) and has a Type Approval Certificate issued by DNV to state that the material complies with Annex A.1, item no. A.1/3.40 and Annex B, Module B in the directive. SOLAS 74 amended, Regulation II -2/13 and FSS Code 11.
As well as our Low Location Lighting, our photoluminescent material is used to manufacture International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Life Saving, Safe Condition (Directional Escape and Emergency Equipment) and Fire Fighting Equipment signage. Our Photoluminescent Signage will highlight vital information in both light and dark conditions.
